Policies

The following terms and conditions apply to all freshwater livestock purchases or orders from Dragonfly Waterworks LLC:

All orders (except local deliveries) of live animals are shipped via UPS Next Day air. If you order is large enough that I need more than one box to ship them safely (there are only so many fish that can be crammed into one box and still arrive healthy), I reserve the right to charge an additional shipping fee. For local deliveries (in the Milwaukee area), please text or email me to set up a specific time, day, and address for me to deliver your fish.

Orders are processed and shipped within 7 business days of receiving the order, weather permitting. While I keep the website up to date on the availability of my stock, I reserve the right to cancel and refund an order if I cannot fulfill it at that time.

Refunds:

I will refund or, pending availability, replace any purchased animal that does not arrive at your home alive and well. In the case of shrimp, I always try to include one or two extra so that this will not be necessary. Because leaving a package on your porch, exposed to the elements, or failure to properly acclimate your animals before introducing them to new waters, can cause harm or death, I cannot be responsible for any deaths that take place after the time of delivery.

To obtain a refund or replacement (if available), please email me with photos of the deceased animals, in their original Dragonfly Waterworks packaging, within four hours of the carrier’s logged delivery time.

I do not offer refunds on fulfilled orders for any other reason. The customer is responsible for knowing and engaging in good fishkeeping practices, including quarantining new arrivals, acclimating fish or shrimp before adding them to new tanks (floating the bag for 20 minutes at minimum; drip acclimation is recommended, especially for animals known to be sensitive to water parameters), and making sure your water is properly conditioned, filtered, cycled, and clean. As such, Dragonfly Waterworks LLC is not responsible for any damages resulting from customer negligence.

Disclaimers: There is variation between individual animals within a species, and often between males and females within a species. Fish that you receive may not look exactly like those pictured in the photographs.

Fish sold as “unsexed” means there can be no guarantee your order will be fulfilled with specific sexes or ratio of sexes. However, when stock allows and the fish are old enough to be sexed, I do make an effort to include an appropriate mix of sexes or to fulfill customer requests for specific sexes or ratios.
